Happy Fathers Day Dad –

My Dad, George Gerbsman, was a first generation citizen and a member of “the Greatest Generation” who served in WWII.

As I am entering the Autumn of my years and especially on this Fathers Day, I reminisce about family.

My Mom and Dad had hard lives.  They each worked 2 jobs at times to support the family, but with the goal to make sure their children had better lives and a good education. Dad had numerous emotional and health issues over the years and it was tough for him, but he persevered.  Some of his comments to me are what I have passed down to my son and grandson.  Work hard, do the Best you Can, Never Ever Ever Give up and be a Good Person.

I regret over the years that I did not spend enough time understanding him, supporting him and spending more time with him.  However I “thank him” the guidance he gave me.

Dad would be very proud of his Grandson, Great Grandson and other grand children.  They represent goodness and hope for the future.

On this Fathers Day Dad, I toast you and remember you with love and respect.

“To the memory of one who once was and to the knowledge he will be in my heart and mind forever”.

With respect

Your son
