Happy Fathers Day Dad –

My Dad, George Gerbsman, was a first generation citizen and a member of “the Greatest Generation” who served in WWII.

As I am entering the Autumn of my years and especially on this Fathers Day, I reminisce about family.

My Mom and Dad had hard lives.  They each worked 2 jobs at times to support the family, but with the goal to make sure their children had better lives and a good education. Dad had numerous emotional and health issues over the years and it was tough for him, but he persevered.  Some of his comments to me are what I have passed down to my son and grandson.  Work hard, do the Best you Can, Never Ever Ever Give up and be a Good Person.

I regret over the years that I did not spend enough time understanding him, supporting him and spending more time with him.  However I “thank him” the guidance he gave me.

Dad would be very proud of his Grandson, Great Grandson and other grand children.  They represent goodness and hope for the future.

On this Fathers Day Dad, I toast you and remember you with love and respect.

“To the memory of one who once was and to the knowledge he will be in my heart and mind forever”.

With respect

Your son

To all:

Hal Kushner and my good friend Ira Sharlip were U.S. Army Flight Surgeons at the same time in Viet Nam starting in late 1968. Ira mentioned him to me recently. Here is the link to the speech that Hal gave some years ago at an ophthalmology meeting in Philadelphia.

The first 22 minutes and 50 seconds are about ophthalmology. I think it is quite interesting but if you want to watch onlyhis POW experience start watching at 22 minutes 50 seconds. It’s about 36 minutes long. Hal was the only M.D. whowas a POW in the war in Vietnam.

I found his speech riveting  and his patriotism is inspiring and powerful and on this upcoming Memorial Day

Hal Kushner, MD – Dying is Easy. Living is the Difficult Thing.

Good afternoon

Steven R. Gerbsman, Principal of Gerbsman Partners, is pleased to announce the successful termination of a life science prohibitive real estate lease and the restructuring of accounts payable and intellectual property creditor issues.

The life science company needed to accomplish the above in order to obtain the necessary “bridge financing” to provide runway for a round of “expansion capital funding”.

Gerbsman Partners assisted by:

  1. creating a strategic plan to accomplish the successful termination of the prohibitive real estate lease
  2. negotiating with the real estate lessor and finalizing the termination of the lease
  3. negotiating with numerous accounts payable and creditor issues to restructure the balance sheet

Gerbsman Partners is the “innovator” in creating strategies to terminate or restructure prohibitive real estate leases and senior and sub-debt obligations, as well as creditor issues.  To date, we have terminated or restructured over $810 million of such obligations for private and public companies, which has allowed the potential of returning the company to financial viability.

About Gerbsman Partners

Gerbsman Partners focuses on maximizing enterprise value for stakeholders and shareholders in underperforming, undercapitalized and undervalued companies and their intellectual properties. Since 2001, Gerbsman Partners has successfully maximized the values of 120 companies in a wide and diverse spectrum of industries. In the process, GP has successfully restructured/terminated over $810 million of real estate executor contracts, creditor issues and equipment lease/sub-debt obligations, and has assisted in over $2.3 billion of financings, restructurings and M&A transactions.

Gerbsman Partners has offices and strategic alliances in Boston, New York, Washington DC, McLean VA, San Francisco, Orange County, Europe and Israel.

If appropriate, I am available to strategize and develop action plans for maximizing and monetizing value.
