Help Us Spread Super Maeve’s Story and Raise Awareness of Child Cancer!

September is Childhood Cancer month. We hope that sharing Maeve’s story will help to raise awareness of pediatric cancer and the other super heroes battling this terrible disease. All children deserve better. They deserve a cure!

If we reach 100 shirts sold we will earn over $1000. Funds raised will directly support Super Maeve. Any funds not used by Team Super Maeve will be donated to pediatric cancer research.

Your continued prayers and positive thoughts mean the world to us. We are so proud of Maeve’s continued courage and, while cancer hasn’t surrendered just yet, we celebrate her continued victories everyday! She CAN & she WILL beat this cancer. WATCH her!

You know me by my everyday name, Maeve, but my true identity is Super Maeve. I’m fighting something that only one-in-a-million kids have; since I’m a one-in-a-million, superhero kind of girl, I’m going to kick cancer’s butt!

While playing on the playground on March 19, 2013 Maeve took a tumble and later began complaining that her stomach hurt. Mom and Dad took her to the doctor for a checkup. After an ultrasound and CT, it was discovered that Maeve had nearly 30 masses in her tiny body including: large tumors in her abdomen and pelvis, four tumors on and within her liver and numerous spots on her lungs. The doctors’ initial diagnosis was a rare form of Germ Cell Tumor, which was confirmed by biopsy on Tuesday, March 26. Maeve was 2 years old.

Maeve completed the standard plan of treatment- six rounds of inpatient chemo therapy, each lasting one week, and surgery to resect the original tumor- at the end of July. Since her follow up scans still showed evidence of disease, her treatment plan was recently extended to include two additional rounds of chemo and a second surgery, this time on her liver.

The journey has been long and hard, but Maeve has maintained her smiling face through it all. We are continually amazed by her, and we are fully confident that she will beat this cancer! Thank you for all the love and prayers you send Maeve and our family. It means the world to us.
